Ryan texted me the term "Polar Vortex" to explain the freakishly cold weather that we were experiencing - with the windchill it was -35°! News reports were saying that this is cold enough that any exposed skin can get frostbite within 10 minutes. I tried my best to stay indoors all of Tuesday and Wednesday except to drive to work and back.
